The Student Experience

stem+M’s 90-hour curriculum blends real industry tools with hands-on experience, giving middle-school students a clear line of sight from concept to creation. Learners rotate through nine titles: Intro to Manufacturing, Research & Design, Manufacturing Challenge, 3D Printing, CNC Manufacturing, Creative Composites, Electronics, Robots, Structural Fabrication. Each unit is tied to a modern manufacturing hands-on experience. Progress is visible through shareable project artifacts and built-in evidence assets, helping students link classroom work to real careers.

“Thank you for being authentic professionals that genuinely care about teachers and students.”

Carrie Wilmer, M.Ed., stem+M Teacher, Brookville Middle School, Lynchburg, VA

Quick Wins for Learners

  • Small-team challenges build collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • On-screen tutorials guide safe use of equipment before every lab.
  • Short career clips show how each skill maps to today’s factory floor.
  • On-screen curriculum content provides a theory background, to gain a better understanding of the hands-on learning at-hand.

“The students are communicating in an authentic way. They’re measuring in every single unit, and I’ve never really seen a program arranged that way.”

Lani Patrick, Instructional Specialist for Science, Campbell County Public Schools, Campbell County, VA

The Teacher Experience

Curriculum, equipment, training, and implementation support all arrives as a single package, so launch is plug-and-teach. A step-by-step learning-management portal paces activities and houses assessments, while implementation coaches provide just-in-time guidance.

What educators notice

  • Equipment lists, consumables, and safety resources live in one place.
  • No need to write or source lesson plans: The full sequence is turnkey.

“This program has enhanced the way that I teach.”
